Nigerian Ngos Hold Meeting on New Tactics

In December 2004, fifteen members of FINGO (Forum for Imo NGOs), a network of NGOs in the state of Imo, Nigeria, met to examine tactics used to address domestic violence and protect women in Nigeria. In addition to a discussion of conventional tactics, the group employed "tactical mapping" to view relationships that reinforce or are affected by these issues.

Regional Training Workshop to be Held in Asia

The New Tactics in Human Rights Project, in collaboration with Forum-Asia (www.forum-asia.org), has started preparations for an Asia Regional Training Workshop, to be held in June 2005. This will be the fifth workshop in a series of five the New Tactics project has coordinated around the world. The meeting will engage innovative human rights practitioners from across the Asian region in sharing and developing ideas, practices, knowledge and skills to strengthen efforts to advance human rights. Workshop dates, location and application information will be posted on our web site in coming month (www.newtactics.org).
