Engaging the Media in Human Rights

New Tactics February On-line Tactical
Discussion

Engaging the media in human rights is an on-going challenge and
opportunity. The media play a critical role in civil society as carriers of information
about how people behave, and consequently, have the ability to influence how
people behave. These roles create a unique opportunity for human rights
practitioners to communicate with a larger audience than otherwise
possible. The challenge is to tap into this resource – and engage the
media. You are still able to join our featured resource people for the New
Tactics in Human Rights on-line discussion and share your own experiences, insights and
questions.

Controling your emails from the New Tactics Website

You may see many emails each day containing each new item added to the site, and then more messages when changes are made to any one post.

For some people, these emails may be useful information and easier to receive than logging into the website directly. For others, you may wish to turn off the email notifications and still view everything by logging into the website. If this is true, you will need to log in to the website, click on "My information and settings" (on the right side of the website), next click on the "Edit" button. Use the down arrow key to scroll down the page to a box labeled "organic group settings". This box contains choices for "Email Notifications". You may then choose "Never send email notifications."
