The International Peace and Development Training Center in cooperation with the Department of Peace Operations (DPO) and PATRIR announces a training programme on 'Designing Peacebuilding Programmes (DPP)' September 22 - 26, 2008 in Cluj - Napoca, Romania

Designing Peacebuilding Programmes (DPP) is a five-days international training programme for practitioners, policy makers, international and national agency staff and NGOs working in peacebuilding, gender, development, conflict transformation, violence prevention and post-war recovery.     

The program will help you:
  • Learn from best practices and lessons learned in peacebuilding and conflict transformation programme development and implementation;
  • Explore the most up-to-date work being done in the field by national and international organizations around the world;
  • Develop effective, practical methods for integrating peacebuilding and conflict transformation into the work of your organization/institution/agency;
  • Explore all stages of programme development, implementation, follow-through and post-programme/ project work in peacebuilding and conflict transformation;
  • Ensure the development of projects and programmes appropriate for conflict settings, with particular focus on developing sustainable processes and strengthening and supporting local/national resources and capacities for peacebuilding;
  • Develop effective conflict and peacebuilding strategic planning, mapping and integrated approaches skills;
  • Develop appropriate peace and conflict impact assessments and indicators for the work of your organization;
  • Develop tools to assist your organization/institution/agency for short, medium, and long-term engagement in peacebuilding and conflict transformation programmes.
