RESOURCES

 

Our resources practitioners are forging new paths on the road to social change using video advocacy. They have a variety of contributions and portfolios that they’ve made available for use. Witness has produced a free book that is a how to guide for video advocacy, Fahamu has several media and information databases available for use, and the Video Volunteers have a nice examples list of all that can be accomplished. Numerous other organizations have wonderful portfolios for browsing, including the Chiapas Media Project, Burma Issues, Breakthrough Media, and more!

We are very pleased to announce that the New Tactics in Human Rights Project in partnership with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) will again be offering small grants to human rights organizations! 2008 Integrity Awards - Nominations Deadline: 31 August 2008

Transparency International (TI) is calling for nominations for the 2008 Integrity Awards. The Awards honor individuals and organizations that have demonstrated exceptional courage and outstanding leadership in fighting corruption. Each year TI receives a substantial number of nominations for candidates who have risked their lives and their livelihoods in the name of justice, transparency and integrity. Winners have come from Asia and Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. They have included journalists and public prosecutors, accountants, government officials and leaders of civil society. The New Tactics in Human Rights Project is an international initiative led by a diverse group of organizations and practitioners from around the world. The project is coordinated by the Center for Victims of Torture and grew out of its experience as a creator of new tactics and a treatment center that also advocates for the protection of human rights from a unique position—one of healing and reclaiming civic leadership.
