This notebook highlights the use
of Public Audiences, created with the aim of legitimizing and dignifying the
personal experiences of the victims in order to support the therapeutic and
recuperative work on their behalf.

I’ll Walk Beside You

This notebook outlines the victim

victim-friendly process.

February 2008 - Engaging the Media

FEATURED DISCUSSION: Engaging the Media

Engaging
the media in human rights is an on-going challenge and opportunity. The
media play a critical role in civil society as carriers of information about
how people behave, and consequently, have the ability to influence how people behave. These roles create a unique
opportunity for human rights practitioners to communicate with a larger
audience than otherwise possible. The challenge is to tap into this
resource – and engage the media. Join our featured resource people and
share your own experiences, insights and questions (www.newtactics.org).

We need your help! New Tactics is collaborating with the United Nations Foundation and The Vodafone Group Foundation, and working in consultation with MobileActive.org, in conducting a global survey to gauge the extent of mobile technology use by nonprofit organizations/NGOs in carrying out their work.

The survey will capture vital data on the opportunities and challenges offered by the 'mobile revolution' in addressing urgent social and environmental needs. Your input is critical!

Survey results will be released in February and will inform the work of civil society organizations, researchers, technology developers, and donors worldwide.
