As Legal Director at the Rocky Mountain Survivors Center, I have worked with almost 100 volunteer attorneys and law students over the last four years.  The pro bono work these volunteers do is priceless to our clients and the legal process.  Our lawyers and law students have not only successfully represented torture survivors and other asylum seekers, but their hard work, legal and country condition research has educated the judiciary, administrative decision makers, and the local bar associations about the plight of torture survivors overseas and in their new U.S. communities.  Most of our volunteers spend well over 100 hours per case.  As a result, Rocky Mountain Survivors Center can provide quality legal assistance to many more individuals than I, as the sole attorney, could possibly do.  I salute our legal volunteers and those around the United States and the world for their commitment to human rights.
