BACKGROUND

Over 30
years experience in Peace Education and Community Networking, K-12 Education
and Curriculum development, Database development
and Professional Technology Skills training working with rural communities in
the United States, Costa Rica, Belieze.
Projects have involved community organizataion, grants writing, program
management, web and video development with the past 20 years dedicated to
curriculum and program development projects for Distance Education, Telemedicine,
Rural Development, GIS mapping, E-Commerce and Professional Technology Skills
Training Projects. I have worked closely
with Dr. Harvey Wheeler and Dr. Robert Muller on a variety of regional and
International Peace Education projects since 1986.

Mr.
Tyndall has served as Principle Investigator for projects funded by the
National Science Foundation (for work in Costa Rica and the United States
developing early models of Internet applications for community peace and
conflict resolution and K-12 distance education), the U.S. Geographical Survey
(for GIS mapping), the U.S. Department of Commerce (for E-Commerce training
program development), the U.S.. Department of Agriculture (for rural areas Distance
Education and Telemedicine Projects in Calaifornia, Arizona, New Mexico,
Colarido), the California Department of Education (for teacher professional
technology literacy skills program design and delivery), the California
Telemedicine and Telehealth Foundation, U.C. Davis (for physician and nurse
technology skills training) and the California Consumer Protection Foundation
(for regional Youth Education program development in Santa Barbara, California).

Mr.
Tyndall is the President and founder of Visible Light, Inc. (a non-profit
Foundation started in 1979, based in Santa
Barbara, California)
and is an internationally recognized leader in Rural Development, Telemedicine,
and Distance Education. Visible Light
founded the RAIN Network (Regional Alliance for Information Networking), one of
the first Community Internet Networks in the United States, in 1990, working
throuh funding from the National Science Foundation. The RAIN Network has provided free Internet
access and technology skills education to low income youth, families and
seniors since that time.

Mr.
Tyndall’s work with Distance Education has received a Smithsonian Institution
Technology Innovation Award.

award linking 16 rural communities and clinics in Central
California with new web, GIS and e-commerce resources.

1998-2002

Coordinator - California Department of Education Technology Literacy grant, in
partnership with Oro Grande and Los Angeles
School Districts, for web development for K-12 schools in California and Teacher
Technology Skills development.

1997-1998

Project Director - US Department of Agriculture distance learning and telemedicine
award linking 9 rural communities & clinics in Central
California with new web, GIS and e-commerce resources. Working in partnerships with the Cities of
Nipomo, Guadalupe, Oak View, New Cuyama, Shandon, Oro Grande, Los
Angeles, Palm Springs and San Bernardino, (Lake Arrowhead
schools).
