Hi Toni,
I am mailing you a thank you letter, but here is a more
informal way to thank you for your presentation last
night.
First, it was good to have a chance to get to know you
after all this time. Second, your talk was very informative -
full of more information about librarians that I imagined
was possible. My respect for their work, already high,
has increased. As you spoke, memories of my happy
experiences with libraries over the decades came to
mind - and I am amazed at how the profession has
developed. So, on behalf of 12/26, thank you so much!
Our local AI Refugee Network (RefNet)
group helps refugees here who have been denied refugee
status - to see if there is evidence somewhere that shows
that they will indeed be in danger if they are returned to
their home countries. We have used librarians in the past
to help us, but your talk suggested many more possibilities
to help with our research, which can be so difficult.
I have put your name on our Edmonton 12/26 email list.
If you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate
to get in touch with me.
Gratefully,
Mary
