Gerald Loftus
US Foreign Service Officer (State Department) 1979-2002. Served at US embassies and consulates in Barbados, Tunisia, Alexandria Egypt, Oman, Mauritius, Algeria (Algiers & Oran), US Mission to NATO in Brussels, London, and Luxembourg.
After leaving the Foreign Service, worked as a consultant to Defense Department organizations, including Joint Forces Command, European Command, and the Africa Center for Strategic Studies. Advised on establishing civilian interagency advisory groups, cooperation with multinational partners, and capacity building at African regional organizations (AU, ECOWAS, and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre).
