Consortium for Street Children

I work as the Advocacy Director at the Consortium for Street Children, where I have responsibility for national and international campaigning and lobbying for street children's rights. During 2011 I provided technical advice and support for the drafting of UN Resolution 16/12, and helped organise the UN Human Rights Council discussion day on street children. I subsequently worked closely with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to implement the recommendations of the Resolution, producing a ground-breaking, cross-sector report on 'the promotion and protection of the rights of children working and/or living on the street'. The report was presented to the UN Human Rights Council in March 2012.

I joined CSC in 2008, having previously worked with various projects for homeless young people and in Amnesty International's campaigns department. Educated at the London School of Economics, Sussex University and London University's School of Oriental and African Studies, I have a background in human rights with particular expertise in child rights. I am the Non-Executive Director of the Witchcraft and Human Rights Information Network, a Fellow of the RSA and was runner-up for the Sheila McKechnie Foundation's 2006 'Economic Justice' award.
