Csaba Szilagyi, Head of the Human Rights Program, is responsible for the human rights collections, public programs and education at the Open Society Archives. He has also worked as a records manager and archives consultant for the Open Society Institute and Human Rights Watch, respectively, and was the first curator of the Center for Human Rights Documentation and Research at Columbia University.

He is currently interested in how technological development informed the collection, archiving and dissemination of human rights documentation; in methods of visualization of geo-coded human rights material; and in creating of location-based historical/human rights narratives from diverse human rights documents initially created for different purposes (advocacy, criminal investigation, forensic analysis). He is also a content specialist for the Parallel Archive, an open source Web 2.0 content storage and management tool for primary source archival documents developed by OSA.
