Ethan Guillen is the outgoing Executive Director of Universities Allied for Essential Medicines, a global student advocacy organization, which he has led since 2007.  Ethan has extensive policy experience on the role universities and publicly-funded research institutions play in the access to medicines crisis.  His work promotes global access to medicines and encourages publicly-funded institutions to promote their innovations for the public interest.  Prior to leading UAEM, Ethan worked on a variety of policy issues and political campaigns.  After receiving his degree in political science from Yale University in 2002, Ethan taught primary school in rural India.
