I have been working as a Gender and peacebuilding Senior Program Coordinator of Search for Common Ground Nepal for four years, and I have over 11 years of experience in the women rights and peacebuilding field, from planning, management to implementation of gender programs at various levels. With a thorough academic background in management and experience in grassroots organizations, NGOs and INGOs, I have been able to combine a decade long expertise in development, peacebuilding and human rights while working with various stakeholders at different level. I worked as a Program manager with Institute of Human rights Communication Nepal,(www.ihricon.org.np) to manage the program on women and child rights. In 2004, I was a cofounding member of a umbrella organization of women called “Shantimalika” (Women’s network for Peace (www.shantimalika.org.np), through this network we were able to bring 18 organization together working on Women peace and security issues (now providing the strategic direction to Shantimalika as a steering committee members). Presently supporting Nepal’s program on Non violence and peacebuilding, as a position of Coordinator, of South Asia Peace Alliance, Nepal chapter (SAPA) http://southasiapeacealliance.weebly.com/
In addition, I have been also coordinating the N-PEACE (http://www.n-peace.net/) Nepal network that aims to strengthen the efforts in working through, with and for civil society organizations working on women, peace and development issues in conflict and post-conflict countries and I been also involved in running women Peace Circle in Nepal with the support of Creators of Peace. I was also awarded by Universal Peace Federation as “ Youth Ambassador” in 2008.
