Philippa Hawke
Philippa Hawke is a Senior Researcher with BoysTown - the Australian child and family support service which delivers the 24/7 national Kids Helpline telephone and online counselling service. She has been the Australian representative to the Child Helpline International network for the past 8 years and was the Asia-Pacific representative on the CHI Taskforce which developed international Quality Standards for delivering child-centred telephone and online counselling and information services.
Her current research projects include investigating the use of sms to support young unemployed people experiencing depression and using counsellor-led video conferencing within school classrooms to raise awareness of mental health and well-being issues, encourage help-seeking behaviours and raise awareness of child helplines.
