Babar Bashir

Mr. Babar Bashir is a Sociology graduate from the Punjab University Lahore and has been working in the development/ social sector in Pakistan since 2000. He has worked with various development organizations in different positions, ranging from mid-management to senior management. Currently he works as the Managing Director with Rozan an Islamabad based local NGO. His areas of expertise are project management human resource development and working with men and boys on the issues of gender violence.  He has sound experience of developing training modules and conducting workshops (capacity building, sensitization and TOTs) with teachers, doctors, local government representatives, development professionals and local communities. For the last 7 years, while working with Rozan, Mr. Bashir has been actively involved in gender sensitization and capacity building of different cadres of the Pakistan Police, from constable to Deputy Inspector General of Police.  In addition, he has mentoring the Police trainers on gender and human rights issues in their respective police training institutions across Pakistan.  One of the key achievements of his professional career while working with Rozan is the institutionalization of Gender Violence Curriculum into regular police training in Pakistan. He has keen interest in understanding issues around men, masculinities and gender based violence.
