Beth Van Schaack is a Visiting Scholar at the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University. She previously held the position of Deputy to the Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues in the Office of Global Justice of the U.S. State Department. Prior to her State Department appointment, she was Professor of Law at Santa Clara University School of Law where she taught international criminal law, human rights, transitional justice and the legal regulation of war. She has also been a human rights lawyer with The Center for Justice & Accountability and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
