Daniel Lakemacher was a Second Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy prior to being discharged as a conscientious objector in September 2009.  He started the website http://warisimmoral.com in which he documented the months-long process through which he went to be honorably discharged from the military as a CO.  He is currently the Director of Development at the Center on Conscience & War in Washington, D.C., where he seeks to raise awareness and support for all those who object to war.
