Country or Region:

I am a post-doctoral scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund. My current work focuses on the climate implications of oil and gas production. I have been researching the influence of 'super-emitters': a small fraction of production sites or facilitites that are responsible for the majority of emissions.

I hold a Ph.D. in Engineering and Environmental Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin, where I studied the environmental implications of shale gas production.

I also have graduate studies in political ecology and the social impacts of science and technology.

My interests have to do with understanding the social implications of technologies that appear as responses to climate change. How does science established itself to study social-environmental conflicts? How are other non-scientific voices incorporated to this dialogue? Specifically, how do we think of the concepts of resilience and sustainability?

I was born and raised in Mexico City.
