International Service for Human Rights (ISHR)
Country or Region:
Lizzy Openshaw holds an MA in Human Rights and has worked for 16 years in various capacities in the field of education and human rights as a teacher, education specialist, trainer, manager and curriculum adviser in Europe, Asia and Africa. She has trained over 600 human rights defenders from across the globe on effective engagement with the United Nations and regional human rights systems. Over the last few years, her work with human rights defenders has led her to the conviction that a more holistic approach, which explores ways to cope with stress, trauma and avoid burn-out, is needed to ensure an integrated protection strategy for those working in human rights.
