Born in Toronto 1960. Raised in Osaka Japan as kid of Presbyterian career missionaries who served the Korean Christian Church in Japan for 40 years in such areas as youth and lay leadership development, international liaison, ecumenical and interfaith dialogue, rights advocacy and reconciliation ministry. Username chosen in honour of now-gone father's favorite Bible verse, Micah 6:8. "He has told you, O mortal, what is good: and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God."
BA in PoliSci and Modern Japanese Studies (U of T), MBA (U Vic, incomplete). 27 years experience as freelance Japanese-English interpreter/translator, with stints as tree planter, business executive assistant, TV newscaster/director, TV location coordinator, DFAIT commercial officer, development finance researcher (from grassroots NGO perspective), minister's wife, choirguy, dad, unregistered theology student, teacher and, currently, gas station night shift attendant.
Eyes opened and life changed in June, 2006, when a friend attending the Vancouver World Peace Forum first brought to my attention some of the "anomalies" of 9/11. This set me on a course of discovery which led to the conclusion, 9/11 was an inside job. Silence of church and political "leaders" in the face of continuing slaughter of innocents has literally compelled me to step into the void and adopt as my co-primary identity, "9/11 Truth Activist" --- the other one being, "farther responsible for the future of a six-year-old."
Influenced and inspired by countless people I've encountered, in many places, of many faiths and walks of life. Too many heroes to name, but here's a few: Socrates, Buddha, Jesus, the Cathars, Bonhoeffer, Gandhi, Rosa Parks, Thich Quang Duc, JFK, MLK Jr., Tank Man, William Rodriguez, Stephen E. Jones, David Ray Griffin, Cynthia McKinney, Yukihisa Fujita...
People from whom I'd most love to get an honest answer to the same honest question, "Who do you serve?": George Bush Sr., Philip Zelikow, Pope Ratzinger, Giuliano Zaccardelli, Stephen Harper, Peter MacKay, Paul Martin, John Manley, Rex Murphy.
