Mrs. Mekka Abdelgabar is a Dutch/Sudanese citizen, born on January 1955 in Darfur, living in The Netherlands for more than 25 years.  Mrs. Abdelgabar is married and a mother for four children

Mrs. Abdelgabar is the chair of the Darfur women foundation in The Netherlands (VOND), and chair of the platform African Women Group for Change (AWOG)

At the moment: Mrs. Abdelgabar is working as executive manager for Holland Ambassade Services, (in charge of administrative and financial affairs) and as a Public Relations Manager for the company: The Hill Group; for entrepreneurship’s education, and executive for the African business liaison and for Arcticus.

Past experiences: Include:

In The Netherlands: Assistant scientific researcher (AIO) at Twente University in Enschede, assistant financial Advisor for the East African Affairs in The Hague, System manager, for Vittessa/Giodis Logistics B.V. in Rotterdam and Consultant of software applications for Biasc computer systems in Zoetermeer.

In Sudan: Lecturer at the University of Omdurman, financial inspector for the Ministry of Finance, and junior auditor for the Bank of Khartoum.

Academic qualifications include:  First phase of Ph.D. in Public Administration - Twente University - Enschede, Master degree on Public Policy and Administration – The Institute of Social Studies – The Hague and a Bachelor of Accounting from Omdurman University - Sudan.

Professional qualifications: IT degree of:  MCSE,  followed by various vocational and capacity building trainings such as: Violence against women, project cycle management, recruitment of fund and mobilization of supporters, managing International partners, microfinance & remittances, financial skills, monitoring & evaluation, financial management and migration & development issues.
