Niko Lusiani currently co-coordinates the Corporate Accountability and Economic Policy areas of work at the International Network for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR-Net). Through research, advocacy, mutual-learning and alliance-building, Niko’s work seeks to prevent the negative impacts of the global economy on human rights and to develop alternative rights-realizing economic policies. Before coming to ESCR-Net, Niko worked in the fields of international humanitarian relief in the United States, indigenous rights in southern Mexico, women’s rights in Syria, and human rights in the natural resource sector in Ecuador.Currently, Niko is participating closely in the ETO Consortium, a diverse group of leading human rights experts developing the conceptual underpinnings and practical experiences related to the application of extraterritorial obligations (ETOs) worldwide.

Niko received a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, where he specialized in international human rights law and development economics.
