Saman Alavi
Saman has an academic background in democratic development, religion, and gender relations in South Asia. Since earning a Masters in History from Western University, she has been actively involved in the nonprofit sector. Through her work at Doctors for Doctors and the Middle East and North Africa Research Group, she has facilitated the development of poverty alleviation initiatives. These programs have gone on to expand access to education and healthcare while dismantling gender-based barriers. Most recently, she has joined a team of Canadian entrepreneurs developing Keela, a collaborative online platform designed to address the disconnected state of the social good sector. She believes that the future of social good is in collaboration, transparency, and digital innovation.
