Joined the human rights and democracy movement in the Maldives in 2004, with a background in marketing and public relations. Founder of Maldivian Democracy Network, formerly known as the Maldivian Detainee Network. Headed the organisation from 2004 until appointed as Chair of the Police Integrity Commission in 2009 and resigned after the coup d'etat in 2012. Back with the NGO since 2013, presently pursuing a degree in Behavioural Studies (Psychology). Special interest in policing, deradicalisation and democratic transition. Enjoy swimming, scuba diving, long distance running and meditation.
