Goodbye, Sarah!

After a wonderful year with the New Tactics team at CVT, it is with sadness that I leave one of the best teams I have ever worked with. When I first started with New Tactics, they welcomed me with open arms. I realized quickly that this team was more like a family. The basic definition of a team is two or more people working together to achieve a common goal. The New Tactics team, in addition to that, supports one another, celebrates good times together, lifts each other up when life gets hard, and truly cares about each other. This compassion extends to every single human rights activist that they work with.

The work of supporting others around the world who are trying to improve lives through ending human rights abuses is not always an easy task. Sometimes it is hard to realize there’s only so much you can do. But the New Tactics team continues to strive toward improving their own work so they can help activists do the same. I was honored to be part of that work for the last year. To see the tools and skills that the New Tactics team can train others to employ more efficient and effective activism. To read the stories of success and see human rights activists, using the training we taught them, make real progress toward a more humane and just society. This was all part of my incredible journey with the New Tactics team at CVT. And because of my work with them, I am well-equipped and prepared to take the next step in my career of helping others. I will carry all that I’ve learned with me into my next project, but I will always miss the family that I was thankful to be a part of with the New Tactics team.
