  Emily Hutchinson | Program Manager
Emily leads the global New Tactics program and is responsible for strategic planning, development and management. Emily is an attorney with significant management experience in the U.S., Middle East, North Africa, and the Balkans. Emily has worked with governments and civil society organizations on a wide range of human rights, transitional justice, and post-conflict governance issues.

Emily previously served as Counsel at the Public International Law and Policy Group, as well as the regional program coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Businesswomen’s Network. Emily has also managed campaigns for state-wide election and served as the first executive director of Mill City Commons, a non-profit health and wellness organization headquartered in Minneapolis. Emily holds a J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, an M.A. in Middle East Studies and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, and a B.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University.
  Brent Jensen | Online Engagement Coordinator
Brent Jensen, online community coordinator for New Tactics in Human Rights with the Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) is responsible for overseeing the program’s online presence, including website, social media channels, online community, web applications and e-learning platform. Jensen holds a master’s degree in global and international education from Drexel University and bachelor’s degrees in journalism and mass communication, as well as graphic design, from Drake University.
  Nancy Pearson | Training Manager
Nancy is responsible for creating curriculum and training techniques to bring New Tactics in Human Rights methodologies for strategic and tactical thinking to a variety of audiences worldwide. Nancy has a wide array of experience in non-profit work doing social work, community organizing, and the training of human rights activists. Nancy has a master's degree in social work from UC-Berkeley and bachelors of social work and and sociology from Augsburg College.
  Nancy Thorne | Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Nancy is responsible for marketing and funder communications, as well as general program coordination. She holds a master’s degree in marketing and has over 30 years of experience in corporate marketing and management.
  Anne Maertz | Institutional Relations Manager
Anne supports the New Tactics team in raising money for the program. She has carried out fund raising and communications for a variety of nongovernmental organizations, including the University of Minnesota, Oxfam Great Britain, and WellShare International. Anne’s academic background is in foreign policy and communications.
Middle East & North Africa Team
  Noor Zada | MENA Initiative Program Manager
Noor is responsible for the strategic planning, fundraising and management of our work in the Middle East and North Africa region. Noor has broad experience in the NGO sector, serving for eight years as a Trainer and Senior Program Officer at Partners Jordan, a Jordanian non-governmental organization. Noor has a bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Jordan.
  Omar Altabakha | MENA Initiative Lead Trainer
Omar is responsible for the development of training materials and supports training programs in the Middle East and North Africa region. Omar’s previous position was with Partners Jordan as a Program Officer managing and coordinating local and regional projects and activities. Omar also worked in the field of marketing, providing retail and events management to clients such as Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, and Swarovski. Omar has a Master’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Technology, Sydney.
  Wseem Hourani | MENA Initiative Junior Trainer
Wseem is responsible for assisting the Lead Trainer with training support activities, developing training materials and conducting training and mentoring activities. His previous position was with Hikaya Center for Civil Society Development as a Program Coordinator. He also worked with Relief International, Inspirational Development Group, and Talent Beyond Boundaries. Wseem has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Jordan University for Science and Technology.
  Leen Khalaf | MENA Initiative Training Associate
Leen is responsible for supporting activities relate to training materials and conducting training and mentoring activities. Leen completed her BS in Business Management with a Psychology minor at the Lebanese American University in Beirut- Lebanon. After graduating directly, she continued her Masters in Migration Studies and worked as a research assistant for two years at the same University. Leen also volunteered in the Model Arab League Program and the Model United Nations Program while she was finishing her BS degree.
  Ayman Malhis | MENA Initiative Digital Media Coordinator
Ayman is responsible for overseeing the online presence of New Tactics in Human Rights Arabic language content at the New Tactics MENA office. Before joining CVT, Ayman worked with multiple companies, such as Imagine technology and mumzworld.com. Ayman developed a custom online store for Mumzworld, Middle East’s #1 bilingual online marketplace, before moving to Syntax Jordan where he was responsible for the Umniah account and monthly online campaigns covering the largest names such as Jordan Tourism Board, Royal Jordanian, Umniah, karasi.com and many more. One of Ayman's latest projects was the "Arab Summit 2017," including successfully managing the Arab Summit 2017 site and a team of designers, programmers, data entry and marketing team to deliver the largest event in the Middle East this year. Ayman holds a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Amman al Aaliyah University.
